Everybody knows that asos.com is one of if not my all time favorite place to shop when I have some extra cash. Well...Modcloth.com is quickly becoming my new favorite shop. Why? hmmm...let me count the ways. First they have vintage inspired heavenly pieces of what I consider art for the curvy fashionistas...all the way up to 4x....and the shoes! Ladies the shoes are my weakness! unique, retro, or plan weird shoes of every style, color, delight! and they range in larger sizes too...I wear a size 10, 10.5 or 11 depending on the style of shoe so finding cute shoes is not always easy!
So if you get a chance and have a few bucks to spare check out modcloth.com some of their items are rather expensive and yet they have FANTASTIC sales and you can really get some DEALS!

These are on my Christmas wish list! Here's wishing!.....

The basics....

Sometimes what you need isn't that one of a kind piece you've been drooling over, but a few staple items. In my case anyways I've been in need of a few. I never really think about staple items until I go to put something together and I don't have the right cami etc...I definitely don't have adequate Tee's or casual shirts.

I've been interviewing and wouldn't you know that the place I'm pretty sure is going to hire me is casual to work wear as it's in farming retail accounts. The entire place wears farming gear.

target.com has free shipping of order $50.00 or more. I'm usually not a big target fan because I cannot ever find anything IN store that works for my body for some reason. But I gave the online store a shot and we shall see. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I couldn't find a size chart and the sizes for plus are 1,2,3,4. I guessed that I'm a 2 from previous thrift finds I believe said 2. Let's hope!

These items I feel I can be casual at work and still professional looking if not plain Jane haha...

I thought the plaid shirt would be cute with Dark skinny jeans and distressed work boots!

Swan's & Hare's Oh My!

Just a quick little post

to tell you of my recent wares...

They took forever to get here,

but who cares!

Well worth the wait in seconds, minutes, hours,

Others just can't compare.

Eshakti has me trying my hand at poetry. I love them so much.

I ordered my two items April 27th and they just arrived yesterday...

I have been kinda upset and bummed about my order not getting here but it's a happy dance when it does!

I don't care they were late and I didn't have the blouse for the event I needed it for. Truth be told the

event was a bust and I am excited to find new places to wear these two blouses out to...

I ordered a swan print pussy bow blouse and a rabbit print pussybow blouse.

LOVE!

Plus they refund money for being late!

Who Does That ?--

I have a problem! It lives 4 houses down and I just don't get it...Let me start from the beginning as
more than likely, your already confused. Two years ago around April or so I was taking the garbage out after gutting the house.I was wearing holey sweat pants, an old flannel shirt, slippers and an old flannel shirt of my husbands that was bleach stained (Not meeting new people wardrobe!) when this White van pulls into the drive. I stop mid walking to the garbage cans that are around side the house. I thought it was the postman. It wasn't the postman but a woman I have NEVER seen before. Well in a rush she explained that she noticed our basketball hoop and thought they must have kids! she goes on to say that she is new in the area and lives in that white two story down the road, that she has two kids and is looking for childcare in a hurry because she has a new job and starts today. As I stand there garbage bags in hand I listen trying to gain an understanding of her ramblings and if I was hearing right. So I went on to say "You need a babysitter today?" yes,yes exactly! was her reply...and I noticed you had kids....my response "but you don't know me?" with a question on my face. Anyhow so I told her No, I couldn't possibly babysit right this minute on the spot. She seemed irritated and then worried about what she was going to do...
This lady was very demanding and invasive as to if I worked and if so what did I do  etc..etc...and wanted me to watch her kids that very same day after just forcing herself meeting me. I was kinda put off and freaked out but I told her I'd take her number, that I was a work from home mom right now and possibly could watch her kids in the future. The next morning at 8am  a loud bang on the door! it's her with her 5yr old daughter. Before I could realize what was happening this lady was dashing off and thanking me as she ran away. I was steaming mad! she put me on the spot and what was I to do? she even went so far as to say that she could leave her with her brother who was slightly mentally retarded so I contemplated a million different scenario's throughout the day and tried to make the girl happy and my son the same age liked her.She did have a fake knife of my sons and when I turned around to check in on them was sliding across her throat and growling at my son....UGH! again I was creeped out but thought that it was such an odd interaction that I was making more out of it then it was. Anyhow...the lady comes back get her kid and no sooner did I see her pull into her drive I called and said "Hey! I talked to my husband and he doesn't want me babysitting...so I can't watch her again. blah blah blah...nice meeting you and maybe we can get together sometime etc..etc...

This was April.Mother's Day comes around and we decide to try this new little Italian restaurant in town that just opened. It's really dark with candles on the table and I am so excited about actually eating out just the two of us that I am totally focused on my husband and nothing around me except that from where I'm sitting I can see them cooking. My husband travels so we have to play catch up alot. For one reason or another we start talking about that lady 4 houses down...I even let my imagination get away with me and say that the boyfriend could be a child molester or something because that's what they do...lure in single women with children just to prey on the kids. The guy has had at least 3 U-hauls at three different times with three different women including this one. That we have noticed from our porch. Anyhow...Yes, we were gossiping! an hour or so goes by and I just happen to turn to my left, squint my eyes and OMG! there is this lady and her BF and another woman I don't recognize (Obviously listening to my entire conversation with my husband and not acknowledgeing being there) Their movement of getting up caught my eyes. She is smirking and looking at meweird and then says this is my other daughter. I felt red as an apple and my husband has no idea who they are. After they leave I explain and he laughed until I thought he was going to PEE himself.

Fast forward...

I have already told this lady I cannot babysit. Summer comes early here for our kids (In May) Every freaking day for about 2 weeks both the 5yr old and the 12yr old were beating on the door at 8am and staying all...day until after dinner. At first it was ok. The older girl would swim with my kids
while the younger one played with our youngest. They'd eat at least two meals here. Not once did the mother ever call me on my cell, ask if it was ok or even contact her girls all DAY LONG. The straw that broke the camels back is when the oldest came by herself to swim and was wearing a thong
bathing suit. Well it was obvious that she took at liking to my second oldest son but this was so inappropriate! I sent her home!.( I called her mom and said that I didn't know if she knew it or not but I had two teenage boys and I thought skimpy bathing suits at her age was inappropriate) She replied that she was babysitting the youngest and she's from Columbus so...(Like that explains it!) that she only has her part time( The fact that I have teenage boys I thought would make her leery of having her preteen daughter going on 21 here but it didn't seem to phase her(  The same day she came back(dressed) and had a pit bull and rottweiler
with her. UGH! Just in convo with her I had mentioned that I seen their little white poodle jump straight up into her arms and walking with the Rottweiler. So she brings those two dogs to my house. I was really just fed up and I said " You need to take those two dogs home now! I don't trust em!
She left and that's the last we heard of them for awhile. Fast Forward again...She appears to sell girl scout cookies, try and sell me voucher's for massages, and always always always! shows up if I'm having a heated debate with the hubz. I mean come on!my husband can't stand her and once we were arguing and she pulled up and he squealed and threw dirt with his tires and she seemed to not notice the tension in the air! and went on and on and on about everyone in the neighborhood. I have lived here almost 7yrs and don't know even half of what she knows about everyone and anyone in this area. UGH! she is  a life SUCKER....I literally want to stab myself in her company. I have tried and tried with this woman. She tells me extremely weird things about her life ...like she was a nurse and someone died suspiciously in her care and there is an ongoing investigation. Or she just finished massage school and can see that I am tense and I should let her give me a massage and she could teach me some breathing techniques. I feel like saying I am not breathing because your all up in my SPACE! get the F out!

But the WORST! I went into Goodwill today...my favorite one and she was there! At first I thought she was just shopping and I tried to dunk down and not be seen...OH MY GOSH! She freaking WORKS there! I had to suffer and I mean SUFFER through her chatter while I checked out. I did well avoiding her until I got to the register and there she WAS..............I am so pissed off!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I feel kinda bad for disliking her soooooo much but she is from another planet. For example if the ones above aren't enough. She keeps asking if my DAD found a job yet because I had mentioned to her one day when she stopped over that the entire house was job hunting (meaning my Dad,Son,Son,Me) well my Dad passed away and she has been here since but everytime I see her she asks "Has your Dad found work yet?" then I say again "He passed away" then she is "Oh! that's right!" every TIME! so now either their is something mentally wrong with her or she is rubbing it in my face? that my Dad died? and wants to physically see me cringe when she asks about him.

Away with the Muffin Top we Go--

I know it's there! yet I try and forget...the puffy band around my midsection that usually has people asking are you pregnant? If you haven't learned by now you probably never will that you don't ask any woman if she's pregnant unless you already know FOR SURE:) Just saying. That didn't happen to me today but has before. I actually didn't notice other than the occasional hiking up my jeans that my GUT was overlapping so much. Ah well! I felt good all day for what I had to do and I'm keeping this outfit on while I take my son and his car into the shop, exchange some clothing at The Children's Place for my other son ( I ordered him clothing online and the sizing I found was all wrong) and meet up with a blind date my son is taking to homecoming on the Guise that her and her parents have to sign a paper so my son can return it to his school since they attend different schools. I'm wagering he just wants to get a LOOK at her before the big day since they've met through mutual friends only over texting and FB.
So the jacket in the pictures is hanging up and ready for part2(Thrifted,cleaned and shoulder pads removed) of the upcoming evening events. I think we might get Sushi...believe it or not my 7yr old loves it.
I am spared from having to attend any fundraising meeting tonight or pick up my daughter from cheer practice because this morning at 5:45 am she asked me to cut her bangs and I did! umm..well...she has PMS(We call her Ester and it's a running joke with us. When she is growling at me and snippy I say "Ester! you better slow your roll" and she checks her attitude and adjusts it :)  and was emotional anyways and crampy and general blah feeling so cutting her bangs probably wasn't the best idea. So as I was trying to help her with a few different hairstyles before she got on the bus...I was holding a can of hairspray between my legs while I brushed and restyled over and over again,  all while it's still dark and I'm in my PJ's...the end result is she started crying and buried her head in my chest, wrapped her arms around me and sobbed. I let her stay home from school! what? yes, sometimes I'm a softy.
She said it's not her bangs, that she just doesn't feel well today...But while we are at the dreaded Mall I think a fix of my handywork is in order :)

Modern & Edgy (for me)

I'm in LOVE with this seller homako.etsy.com on etsy. She makes wonderful, modern felt & fabric, wood jewelry. I ordered this black wooden triangle necklace and I am so thrilled. Wonderful attention to detail and beautiful craftsmanship. The packaging was really cute too!! So I paired my new necklace with a thrifted yummy sand color top that I paid maybe $1.99 for. I really like this outfit. I feel modern and edgy with the simple color palette and the edgy accessories. I'm loving my zip ankle crops from Fashion bug and I think it helps add to the modern feel of this outfit.  It's super comfortable and a fashion inspiration taken from fashionHayley.com. Check out her blog if you get a chance. I have admired how she adds bold accessories to a neutral color palette for some time and wanted to try it myself.

Dog day of summer--

A combination of summertime and insomnia kept me awake practically all night. So I decided to use the time to clean the entire house while the kids were asleep. Today's list "to do" was a long one...Which was cut short by an allergic reaction at the vets. We took two of our dogs to the vet for shots and to make boarding arrangements for our upcoming vacation. Well as some of you know my Dad passed away in April and I inherited his dog Jasmine or Jazz as she likes to be called. When I was clearing out my Dads things I didn't find any shot records of any kind on her. I know she just turned 8 and that's about it. Well...she got rave reviews from the vet...tiptop shape for her advanced age and has a young spirit obviously:) But while we were there I started first itching, then sneezing, then digging into my skin...my nose started running and I felt I couldn't breathe. I know I'm slightly allergic to Jazz but come hell or high water I'm keeping her...

I was almost at the end of my rope when our appointment was at 9am and he didn't show until 10:15 and not because he was busy. No, I could hear him chatting away about NOTHING TO DO WITH ANIMALS in the next door room for an eternity. Well the combo of my allergic reaction, my daughter starting to sneeze/itch and the 6yr old having 2 breakdowns of tears begging to leave...oh and the dogs bark,bark,barking...I was not a happy camper!
When we finally got the !@#$ out of there I pulled down the mirror in the car only to see that my mascara has smudged and badly under my eyes. I was puffy, red, and looked like I suddenly became Gothic. Needless to say we came straight home and ALL slept until late into the afternoon. Plans thwarted and forgotten...those other errands will have to wait!

No meat required--

I've had this dress in my closet, still with the tags attached for quite some time. I love it but wondered how unless a special occasion I could fit it into my everyday wear. Well I finally had an occasion and this dress was screaming for an evening out(Sunday) My husband and I were invited to his partner/boss's house for drinks then dinner out with him and his wife. How nice it is to have a couples night out! to not have to cut anyone's meat at the table lol (we ended up going out for Sushi anyway so no meat cutting required)...I'm glad I "dressed" for the occasion because the wife of my husbands partner was a educated, chic woman wearing gold lam'e shimmery harem pants and that was just the start of her fabulous outfit.

This vintage jacket is one of my, if not THE best piece I've ever thrifted. It has a black stretchy mesh body with cream strips of fabric sew into an intricate design that when you move about or say reach for something the stretchy mesh expands showing more of the black mesh or neat cutout design. It's a vintage size 10 but has stretched to accommodate my bigger frame. So when I lose my weight I will still have this piece in my wardrobe. You can tell it was an expensive item at one time. The details in this piece are so fancy and exact. Perfectly made and I LOVE IT!

I wish the pictures were better of the dress. It has this shimmery effect that reflects in the light. The neckline I adore and the matching bow belt felt feminine and pretty. I decided to keep it simple with the jewelry and wore my cross my Mother in law brought me back from France, French coin ring and thrifted green stone ring. I would have preferred to wear heels but don't have any that match(need to invest in some heels) so I decided to pair this outfit with my pointy toe patent leather flats. In the end it was a good idea as I had a few glasses of wine and haven't drank in ages. I scoured my closet to find my black sparkly clutch and to no avail. I opted for my vintage mesh, Whiting and Davis navy handbag. It was the only other dressy bag I own.

What a lovely night out...
