It happens...

I have an infinity for thrifting for a few different reasons. First of course, I love scoring that perfect vintage piece that sends my heart skipping a beat. Second, this is how I make money selling those hard to let go of pieces and third while not the intention, something happened...I find that when I thrift it's the only time I allow my mind to wander and think about life. Strange as that may seem or not really. I suppose it would happen if I regular shopped too.
I guess I find it so relaxing that I think a lot about my kids, my husband and the upcoming events of their lives and the milestones already achieved.

I think i'm at the crossroads of many different things and emotions. If I could I would start over from the very beginning and raise my children again. They were such wonderful kids and I really enjoyed their childhoods. It's funny because like most moms I remember thinking I can't wait for this stage to pass etc...and I truly MISS them being younger.

That is the time when they are all yours! before the school years! when they are cocooned into your world and only your world. It's a special time, one I miss.

I am also excited for their verging adult lives...excited for them. But truth be told I MISS them! I remember when it was all FOUR getting their picture taken in front of the pumpkin patch...and now it's down to two :( both the older boys moving on with their lives and having their own adventures.

Turtle Love...

I've always had an infinity for turtles. Something about those creatures makes my heart pitter patter. So imagine my delight when I ran across this vintage Trifani sea turtle necklace. It reminds me of Jade with it's sea foam stone. I debated rather to sell this or not. But in the end decided to part ways as the chain is much to tight around me neck and I don't want to separate the original marked chain with the pendant. Did I mention I LOVE thrifting? hmmm...seems I have a few times.

Putting The Skinny In Skinny!

Thanks to everyone who gave me encouragement to accomplish my goals in the last post! I really appreciate it.
I will be getting over to your blogs as soon as I have a half second....
I'm not even going to apologize for not blogging in awhile because it's bound to happen again. I set my mind and goals to blog at least 3days a week and then something happens to keep me from it.
I've been uninspired lately because my closet to a dive! Yep! it couldn't bear the weight of all my thrifted finds anymore and broke right out of the wall. I fixed it twice and twice it fell again...then I went to Sutherland's and spent a 100.00 bucks and really FIX it! yippy!

So in the meantime I was just wearing what was on top...or recently what the kids bought me for Mother's day; more skinny jeans and this time blue! These are a size 16 and abit BIG! I think when I wash them they will shrink...I had to take back and exchange my YELLOW pair that I bought on the $40.00 challenge because I've lost weight. My daughter commented the other day "Mom you lose weight fast when you want to." and thinking about it I guess I do...that and put on weight fast. I don't ever just gain a few vanity pounds...No, I gain 65 or 70 lbs and quick!
I don't have any scales in the house to tell if I've lost but I can tell from the way my clothing is fitting and the fact that my Bra's all are slipping off the shoulder and the cup size is way to big now...ugh! the first thing to go you know!
I'm debating on buying a scale. I don't want to obsess about if I've lost or not. I just want to be healthy! and buying a scale I might be tempted then discouraged by the results...I don't know!

I have definitely gained muscle and my extra weight seems to be shifting to my mid section! I don't think that is possible but whatever! it's seems to be happening to me.

I am in the market for a new treadmill as I bought the one in the pictures below for 60.00 at Goodwill and it's belt is stretched and has become dangerous...wonder if you can buy replacement belts...hmmm
So that's a bummer as I have already gotten in the habit of using it everyday and now I can't!

Great Things Happen At 6pm--

Have you ever shopped at 6pm.com? Last week I ordered these Bearpaw leopard print boots from their online site and couldn't be happier! Super fast shipping and easy navigating site make for one Happy customer. I believe they are owned by Zappo's. I found lots of things besides footwear that I wanted but resisted the urge to splurge. They did have a Betsey Johnson (SP?) rainbow leopard print ring I was drooling over though...drooling not buying!
Anyway...6pm is quickly becoming my NEW favorite online store...still a close second to asos.

Other than my new boots, this outfit is nothing amazing. But if I waited to post only amazing outfits it might be awhile before I post again...:)

Party!

So over the weekend we celebrated my Daughters 14th Birthday. What a good time! We had a water balloon fight, swam, ate pizza and late into the night sat around a bon fire and made smore's. We had lot's of teenagers and younger ones running around....good times. And of course they had the music blasting our eardrums out! lol

Alot of Cargo--

I wanted to be pulled together yet look easy breezy. Lot's to do today and late into the evening. Before the year even starts I'm Shuffling kids to events at school and pictures for sports before they even start. Then back home for a quick dinner and out the door again tonight. But I wanted to quickly get these pictures up.....

It's no secret I love reading other blogs and getting inspiration. One thing I've noticed on many blogs is the layered bracelet look. First I love the look but if I have to fasten 8 or 9 different bracelets I'd go mad. Luckily I bought so bangles so they just slip on but my vintage pieces and my Dad's have to be fastened. This would drive me nuts if everyday I spent the time to put on and take these off. Anyone have a good trick to put on a clasp bracelets without them slipping off your wrist just as you are about to fasten it? UGH! The skirt used to be ankle length cargo skirt with cute floral pockets from the Gap. I felt the length was so outdated so I cut it off then washed it to give it a slight fray. The pocket falls at the hemline but I still think it looks ok. The T-shirt I thrifted for .50cents. Overall I think this outfit is summery, easy and pulled together.

LOVE in the rain--

So I took this picture while waiting in the car for my husband to finish fishing. I tagged along with him to his favorite fishing hole when a short time later it began pouring rain. When I started to see lightning I hurried with all the hubz extra fishing gear to the car and what else is there to do beside write words in the fog?

Let me start by saying NO! I am not Pregnant! In case your wondering.
I realize I look prego but hey it's a cool dress to wear on a really hot day and I like the subtle boho look to it.  I went thrift shopping real quick last week on my way home from errands (ran in and ran out) because the kids waited in the steamy car (their choice) I found this for $1.99 and a few other pieces.

Toucan sundress...

This is a fantastic handmade Toucan sundress that I thrifted. It ended up costing .50cents! can you believe it? Such a wonderful weight cotton with really wide straps (you can't see because of my cardi) but the straps are wide enough to cover a bra strap but no bra is needed because this dress is structured so well that no bra is required. I love to find handmade items at thrift stores. Whoever made this was a talented seamstress. I love the all over tropical bird print too. The color and quality makes this piece an A+++ in my book.

All is Square--

I felt a tad bit squarish in this outfit. Maybe I needed a wider belt. I've noticed since I've gained weight that I have a less defined waist for sure. When I was thin, I had an athletic boyish body with hardly any boobs to speak of. That's the one thing the hubz likes about my plus size body now; the boobies! I re posted this outfit because the pussybow blouse I'm wearing under the red sweater is for sale in my etsy shop. I love this blouse and had to think long and hard if I was to keep it or sell. I'm still having reservations due to the fact it's sleeveless, light weight and an easy layering piece. Ah well! if I want to add more goodies in the future I have to part with a few too...
